Internal Variables > Creep/shrinkage/Relaxation

Internal variables calculated or temporarily assigned program internal values, which which - under a predefined name (not case-sensitive) - can be used as arguments for for evaluating user defined variables.

SettingDescription
Modification button Values of internal variables can be temporarily changed for evaluating the influence on  related user defined variables. The evaluation of all dependent user defined variables  is performed immediately after switching to the variables presentation pad.
Creep / Shrinkage / Relaxation: Variables used in the static or dynamic analysis Most of them used for defining the creep, shrink and relaxation behaviour
SettingDescription
t Time history analysis: current point in time on the time axis Creep/shrinkage: concrete age of the considered element at the current point in time
t0 C&S: Concrete age of the considered element when loading was applied
ts Only for shrinkage: Concrete age when the shrinkage process starts
tstart Start time of the current action on the global time axis
E28 Young's Modulus for the material at 28 days (= calculation value)
Ax The cross sectional area of the considered element
Fc28 Characteristic strength (cylinder strength) for the material at 28 days (used for the calculation of the creep coefficient according Norway Standard NS3473 and CEB90)
Fcub Characteristic cube strength for the material after 28 days (used for the calculation of the creep coefficient according for some design codes)
CF Consistency code of the concrete (used for creep analysis acc. CEB78 only)
U Exposed outside perimeter of the element cross section
UIN Inside perimeter of the element cross section
RH Relative Humidity on site (long-term average value)
ZF Cement hardening parameter of the current material (used for the calculation of creep coefficients acc. Norway Standard, CEB90, BS5400 and Hong Kong Standard)
TMP The ambient temperature in the vicinity (long-term average value)
OMEGA Current frequency (as angular velocity in rad/sec). Used for evaluating earthquake response spectra (abscissa value of the prescribed spectra)
GAMMA Specific weight is needed for Norwegian code (creep and shrinkage)
WCR Water cement ratio (used for calculation of creep coefficient according BS5400 and  Hong Kong Standard)
CECO Cement content in concrete (kN/m3) (used for calculation of creep coefficient according to BS5400 and Hong Kong Standard)
qlen Evaluation of influence lines: length of the loaded sections
RPR Stiffness ratio steel - concrete (used for calculation of creep coefficient  and according to BS5400 and Hongkong Standard
RelSig Relationship Sig-pr/SigRef, used for calculation of steel relaxation
RELCL Relaxation class, used for calculation of steel relaxation
IQVAR Control variable for variable load (load type QVAR)
